Four weeks ago, the Campden Business Forum launched an appeal to raise funds to help with the installation costs of CCTV on Chipping Campden High Street.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and many private residents, we are delighted to announce that the town council has now approved expenditure on a CCTV scheme and they are working with contractors to have a system up and running as soon as possible.
The Campden Business Forum has been overwhelmed by the support received from the local community and can report that over £4500 has been raised for this project and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the appeal - your support and interest in this project has been truly extraordinary.
We are fortunate that crime is very low in the north Cotswolds, but we cannot be complacent, and the installation of a CCTV system should help ensure we remain a low-level crime area.
Having completed the appeal, the Forum’s involvement in the installation now ceases, and we hand over entirely to the Council, who will, no doubt, keep the town informed about any further developments on this matter.
Once again, a huge thank you to those who contributed to this appeal; your participation is sincerely appreciated - together we have achieved the objectives set.
