Round up of Made in the Cotswolds 2017

A HUGE thank you to all who supported this year's Made in the Cotswolds!  Here are a few highlights that we’d like to share:


  • Our first email after the event came from Little Oak Vineyard and read as follows: “A big thank you for your efforts with Made in the Cotswolds, we had many visitors and a very good week end, now I'm looking forward to next year! 

  • Cotswolds Distillery sold out of their weekend’s stock by 4pm on the Saturday afternoon – luckily they were able to restock overnight so no-one was disappointed on the Sunday. 

  • Sales by exhibitors at Cotswold House Hotel were up 40% on last year and we’re hearing that participants are still making sales as a result of the event. 

  • The video advertising done on Facebook has reached over 28,000 people – although they probably didn’t all visit on the day, this was a great way to promote Campden as a centre of excellence in creativity. 

  • Creative Cows hosted a sell out comedy night and raised over £700 for the Campden Edge charity.

It was wonderful to have so many relatively new businesses to Campden join in with such enthusiasm and special thanks to those venues and creatives who hosted events, demonstrations and tastings – these are definitely a big draw for visitors.  


But don’t take our word for it – here is an email we received this week from Design Storey who were only expecting a handful of visitors on their four tours:


Thanks for all your help with organising this! It was a great event and we had over 70 people at the house - from locals to a couple of American tourists from Illinois! Grevel Lane is featuring on ‘Best Laid Plans’, a new channel 4 show, on November 18th. The first episode of the series airs this Saturday:


We feel proud and privileged to be able to be part of this event


Perhaps the best news though is that this year was so successful that the festival has made a modest surplus.  This is being invested in continuing to support Made’s presence on social media, especially Facebook, for the next 12 months which will further benefit all participants and promote the wealth of creativity on offer in Campden.  With all of our venues and participants working together to promote their news and events we hope that 2018 will be the biggest festival yet and are delighted to share the news that Cotswold House Hotel have already confirmed that we will have a festival date by mid-February.

Finally, thank you to Campden Business Forum who provided moral support when it was needed and a much needed platform to talk to potential participants.
